There's another Alan Turing statue in Sackville Park in Manchester, made somewhat more sinister as he is depicted clutching an apple with a faraway look in his eye...

It's worth pointing out for those unfamiliar with Turing that he committed suicide in the most incredible way: he took a bite from a poisoned apple.
